Introduction

Paros “the white island” with its white painted houses, its windmills, the endless monasteries and churches and its clear blue seas is to be found in the hearth of the Cyclades in the middle the Aegean Sea.

With a surface of 186 km2 and 120 km of coastline Paros is one of the greenest and most beautiful island of the Cyclades.

The culminating point of Paros is the mountain “Prophet Elie” from which you can observe the Islands Naxos, Antiparos and Sifnos.

The capital Parikia and the main harbour are situated in the Western part of Paros.

In the North of the island is the picturesque village Naoussa, the “perle of the cyclades”, with its small fishing harbour and a Venetian Castle. Naoussa is said to be one of the most beautiful fishing villages in Greece.

Paros has been inhabited since the neolithic era and remains one of the most important cultural centres of the Cyclades.
